Olympic Shipping has signed a contract with Myklebust Verft, a shipyard in the Kleven Maritime group for construction of a MT 6009 L Offshore Vessel. Delivery is agreed to September 2011. The reason for the short delivery time is use of an existing hull of MT-Design which was available, ready for outfitting.
Due to this agreement, Marin Teknikk AS has signed a contract with Myklebust Verft in Norway, for design and engineering package for this order. This will be yard number 340 at Myklebust Verft AS.
The vessel will have an overall length of 79,7m, beam of 16,4m, depth to main of 7,45m and accommodation for 40 persons. The vessel is also arranged with arrangements for ROV operations with removable cargo rail and prepared for an offshore crane with capacity of 25t @ 15m radius. The vessel has well under deck tank capacities and a platform deck area of 745m2. The deadweight of the vessel is of approx. 3500 Tonnes.
The MT 6009 L vessel has optimised hull lines and all main engines will be equipped with catalytic cleaning system on the exhaust with Urea injection, which reduces the emissions to the environment. In addition the vessel is arranged with diesel electric driven propulsion systems which save fuel and altogether the MT 6009 L design concept is therefore a very environment friendly vessel.
This vessel contract will be MT-Design number 19 at shipyards within the Kleven Maritime Group. From before Myklebust verft have built 3 off MT-design offshore vessels and Kleven Verft have built 13 and have now 2 under construction. Marin Teknikk have also carried out design work for several conversion projects at Myklebust Verft. With this contract, Olympic Shipping will have 7 offshore vessels of MT-Design.
Marin Teknikk is very satisfied with delivery of these design services to Olympic Shipping and the Kleven Maritime Group.
